The Largest Alcohol Consumption Rate

The Republic of Moldova leads the world in alcohol consumption at 18.22 liters per capita . The Republic’s consumption was split almost evenly between beer, wine, and spirits with wine taking a narrow lead.

Of the top ten countries in the world by consumption, all were in Europe and 9 out of 10 are located in Eastern Europe (including Russia).
